Evacuations & rescues across Central Texas

Residents of several communities across Central Texas are being evacuated due to flooding along the San Gabriel and Llano Rivers.
The Colorado River is also rising and has caused flooding in the Kingsland area. Some residents have been evacuated in that area as well and shelters have been opened.
Williamson County Emergency Management says two water rescues were conducted. One was a vehicle in high water off CR 251 in the Andice area. Both people were taken to a hospital. Their conditions are not known.
The second rescue involved a school bus off CR 177 in Leander. The driver and one student were not hurt and got assistance to a safe area.
Officials say voluntary evacuations are also going on at the Shady River RV Park off SH 29 east of Georgetown.
Granite Shoals residents who see water or live on the lake front are urged to evacuate immediately. Officials are asking everyone to stay off the roads unless they are evacuating. City Hall has been closed & officials say there will be no city meetings tonight. Marble Falls Middle School & First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals at 505 S. Phillips Ranch Road are open as evacuation centers.
The city of Horseshoe Bay is also evacuating the following areas as a precaution:
- Lighthouse Dr
- No Return
- Wenmohs
- Goose Point Dr
- Applehead Island Dr
- HSB Blvd North
- the Cape
Horseshoe Bay officials urge residents along the water to evacuate. A shelter is open at The Church of Horseshoe Bay Social Hall.
